FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does Provisional cost me?
Absolutely nothing - our services are completely free to you, the candidate.

How does Provisional make money?
The companies you go to work for pay Provisional for our services.

If companies have to pay Provisional, that means I could make more money on my own?
No. The money Provisional is paid for its services does not come out of your salary. It comes out of the other costs employers face when hiring. These costs include: Advertising and Recruitment, Interviewing and Screening Resumes, Background Checks, Workers Compensation Insurance, and State and Federal Payroll Taxes. Provisional can reduce these hiring costs because of our economies of scale. Companies pay us for the money and time we save them. Over and above what an employer pays the employee, it actually costs anywhere from $3,000 to $10,000 to hire a new employee.

Are all employment services the same?
No. Provisional is very different. First, we are locally owned and operated. No staffing services better understands the local job market than Provisional. Second, we offer specialized staffing divisions to better fit your industry background. This allows Provisional Recruiting Managers to understand your special skill requirements and place you with companies that meet your career goals. Lastly, our first priority is to keep you as a client for life, and as a client, we treat you with the respect you deserve. Satisfying your needs is just as important as satisfying the needs of the companies that pay us for our services.

How can I benefit from temporary work when I want a permanent job?
Becoming a Provisional temporary employee yields may benefits to the permanent job seeker. First, you make money, improve your skills and make valuable contacts in the business world while you are searching for a permanent job. Hiring authorities are far more likely to hire candidates who are performing in an office environment, than who are collecting unemployment. Second, a growing number of companies are ÒauditioningÓ temporary workers for full-time direct-hire positions. Lastly, there are many people who find the flexibility and diversity of temporary work extremely attractive alternative to permanent work.

How much money will I earn?
That depends on a wide number of factors including what you want to do, how marketable your skills are, how long of a commitment you are willing to make, and any number of other unique variable. Provisional pays premium market rates due to our specialized staffing approach. Ask your Provisional Recruiting Manager for earning potential details.

How will my unemployment benefits be affected if I accept a temporary job?
If you are presently receiving unemployment benefits and accept a temporary job, and you make more weekly earnings on the temporary job than what your present weekly unemployment benefits are, then working on the temporary job extends your benefits an additional week. In other words, your unemployment benefits are extended if your temporary job earnings are greater than your weekly unemployment benefit. Got it?

How do I get paid?
That depends on the type of placement. If you are a Provisional temporary employee, then you are paid weekly, at our office or through direct deposit. If you are placed on a direct-hire job, you get your paychecks and benefits directly from your new employer company.

Why do I need to come into your office?
The staffing business is a face-to-face people business. While we can start the hiring process over the internet or phone, it is necessary to meet in person to move to the next step. Provisional needs to conduct detailed interviews and assess your skills in person. Also, by meeting with our Staffing Managers and seeing our operation, you can see how valuable we can be to your career pursuits.

I am interested in your employment services. What is my next step?
